Appointed as PYP Coordinator in January 2025 to lead whole-school PYP development delivering inquiry-based learning that responds to student interests and diverse needs, while continuing as a homeroom teacher. 



PYP Coordinator Responsibilities include:

  • Lead Primary curriculum and assessment development, including redesigning the Programme of Inquiry and aligning documentation with IB and national frameworks.

    Developed whole-school curriculum tools, including an ATL continuum, baseline assessments, progress trackers, and unit-planning templates.

    Lead the PYP Self-Study process, coordinating evidence, supporting reflective practice, and preparing for IB evaluation.

    Design and facilitate professional development on inquiry, assessment, visible thinking, and concept-driven planning.

    Coach teachers in responsive, evidence-informed practice to strengthen consistency and instructional rigour across the school.

    Lead parent information workshops that build shared understanding of the PYP, inquiry, assessment, and home learning.

    Spearheaded a community-language initiative celebrating multilingualism through parent-led storytelling and cultural events.

    Collaborate with the Secondary IB coordinators to support continuity, coherence, and whole-school alignment of the IB philosophy

​Homeroom Responsibilities include:

  • Create an inclusive, inquiry-driven classroom where student agency, curiosity, and conceptual understanding are central.

    Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including EAL and neurodiverse students, through targeted scaffolding and formative assessment.

    Use visible thinking routines, concept-based learning, and inquiry cycles to deepen understanding and promote critical thinking.

    Build strong, trusting relationships with students and families to support wellbeing, engagement, and academic growth.

    Integrate literacy, numeracy, and transdisciplinary skills into authentic learning experiences tailored to student interests.

    Use data to monitor progress, set goals, and design next steps for individual and group learning.
